Join Converge
Frequently Asked Question
No. There is no required fee to join Converge, and churches are not pressured to give. We simply invite churches to consider voluntary generosity as they see value and alignment. Together, we can do more to start, strengthen, and send churches than any of us could do alone.
Converge is a movement of churches working together to see lives changed by the gospel. When you join Converge, you are not just affiliating with an organization. You are gaining a trusted team that walks with you as you lead. Pastors choose Converge because they want support without control, relationships without bureaucracy, and shared mission without losing local church autonomy. Whether you are navigating leadership challenges, developing leaders, planting a church, or discerning next steps, Converge comes alongside you with coaching, resources, and relationships that help you lead well and multiply your impact.
Most churches complete the process in 2–4 months, depending on alignment and how quickly materials are submitted. The process is intentionally relational, not bureaucratic. You will walk with one of our leaders to ensure there is clarity, shared values, and a mutual sense of fit before moving forward.
Yes. In some situations, dual affiliation makes sense. This is often true when a church has a long-standing relationship with the denomination or network that helped start it, or when there are relational or historical dynamics within the church that require wisdom and care. In many cases, churches choose to join Converge without leaving a previous affiliation because Converge is able to provide coaching, training, resources, and relational support that the other group is not currently offering. As long as there is a healthy understanding and clarity among church leadership, dual affiliation can work.
Yes, but not in the way most people think of a denomination. Converge is best understood as a network of churches with a shared evangelical Statement of Faith and a long history of working together for mission. We do not control local churches. We do not own property, appoint pastors, or dictate ministry decisions. Converge exists to support, connect, and resource churches while fully respecting the autonomy of the local church. Most pastors experience Converge not as an institution or denomination that oversees them, but as a relational network that walks alongside them with shared values, trust, and mission.
Churches that partner with Converge gain access to a wide range of relational and practical support, including pastoral coaching and leadership development, support during pastoral transitions, church planting training, assessment, and financial support, church strengthening tools such as Natural Church Development and strategic vision framing, counseling resources for pastors and their families, mission opportunities in the U.S. and Caribbean, and a community of pastors and leaders who walk with you, not over you. Converge exists to come alongside you with the right support at the right time, based on your church’s unique context and needs.
No. Churches are not required to change their doctrinal statement to join Converge. We ask that your church’s core beliefs align with our broad evangelical Statement of Faith and that there are no direct conflicts. Because of that, some churches may not be a fit, but the process is relational and transparent. We take time to understand your theological convictions, answer questions, and ensure there is genuine alignment while still honoring local church distinctives.
